Greetings and welcome to my profile. Here you will get to learn a bit about the mysterious Nozyspy!
Well, to start off, I got the name Nozyspy many years ago, when me and my friend first played Age of Empires 2 over the net. After that it just stuck, so I have kept it ever since. After all a nosy spy seemed to be an apt name for a game like that. It sounded a little average though, so I added a z to spice it up a little…
My first taste of the Jedi Knight series of games started with a free demo – Mysteries of the Sith: Ambush at Altyr 5 – which I got with my then new computer. It took me ages to figure out how to beat the game (hey, I had only just started gaming back then!) I enjoyed it once I managed to finish it though. ;)
For a while that was all I knew of the Jedi Knight series. However, some time later…I discovered JK2: Jedi Outcast in a shop near me (it had just recently been released), and bought it. And after that…well, I was hooked!
I absolutely loved JK2, I played it tons, mostly I played CTF with some FFA and occasionally some Duel or TFFA as well. After a while however I discovered that you could make your own maps for it, so I went and downloaded JK2 Radiant and started mapping! I didn’t really map seriously for JK2 though; I did it more as a bit of fun now and again when I was bored. I mainly liked to download maps from JK2Files and play them. Probably one of my favourites was the ‘Hail the Boognish’ map hehe…
After a while I found out that JKA was being developed, and I followed it for a while before it came out. I got the game pretty much the day it came out as far as I can remember. I remember…I played it constantly for hours and hours once I had installed it. It was just one of those things, y’know "oh I will just do one more level, one more…"
The Mutiplayer gametype I played the most when JKA came out was siege, I loved it then and still do! I remember when the first player servers were coming online, you had to wait ages just for a free slot to appear in one of the siege servers! I must say that Siege Hoth has always been my personal favourite, you can have some intense 16v16 player battles there!
Some time later I randomly thought I would check out a clan server, I don’t know the reason why, perhaps because all the siege servers were full I dunno… And so started my involvement with clans! Since then I have been in 3 clans, and followed them through thick and thin, which has provided me with many a memorable experience. ;) Heck, I was even one of the leaders (there was more than one leader) in two of the clans, and trust me when I say, being a clan leader is not all its cracked up to be. Though I must admit using admin powers on badly behaved people and those constant lamers was most satisfying…mwahaha…
Now, I can’t remember exactly when I started mapping for JKA to be honest. It was probably sometime soon after I started playing Mutiplayer (fairly soon after the game was released). Once I got into mapping again I couldn’t stop! Since then I have released several maps on JKFiles and I will be releasing more in the future! Though I am unfortunately perhaps one of the slowest mappers you will ever find…
Through my time mapping I’ve been fortunate enough to get to know great mappers like Sith J Cull, Darth Norman, Sssid, LivingDeadJedi, Szico VII, Mace and Immenor among many others. They and others have been invaluable in helping me to progress my mapping skills, as well as being cool people!
One of my fondest memories I have from my time with JK2 and JKA was being able to work at JKFiles myself. I worked there for a little over a year, and had a fantastic time reviewing files of all kinds. I dunno what it is, but reviewing files is just great fun! I was even fortunate enough to review quite a few of Sith J Cull’s fantastic maps along with Shadow Stone’s famous Jedi’s Home v2.
Well I think I’m starting to run out of things to write about now, I’m sure there’s probably more, but I cant remember it off hand. So I guess that’s about it, I hope you have all enjoyed reading my bio!
